Pelicans!

We finally made it to La Crosse, Wisconsin, on Friday the 13th no less, to photograph migrating American White Pelicans. I sat for over an hour on a cold dock and watched them fish, land, and paddle around. Their white plumage is a challenge to photograph without “blowing out” the highlights, and I had some marginal success with that. I thought their poses, and those stunning blue eyes, made for some nice shots. More Pelican shots are in the  Birds Gallery.
